There is growing interest in using bibliometrics (citation counts) to measure the spread and uptake of research, but knowing how to obtain and interpret this data can be difficult. This brief session outlines some of the concepts underlying bibliometrics, the most common metrics that are used, and what databases can be used to get citation information.
