Literature Searching using PubMed (Location: Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health)

Location: Wolfson Centre, cluster room I. This session will enable you to carry out an effective search in PubMed, a key biomedical literature database, to find articles and evidence for your course work, research, or clinical questions.

You will be able to:

  • Run an effective literature search independently
  • Understand what MeSH terms are and why they are used
  • Understand how PubMed ‘interprets’ your search terms
  • Filter out literature for evidence-based practice
  • Save your references and access full-text articles
  • Save your search
  • Take advantage of all features of the PubMed site

Who should attend?

Members of staff or students from any discipline who want to learn or update their knowledge of literature searching using PubMed

This session is also part of the Doctoral School Skills Development Programme. Postgraduate research students at UCL should book a place by logging in via the programme website.
