Literature Searching and Databases for Biomedicine (Location: GOS Institute of Child Health)

Location: Wolfson Centre, cluster room I. This session will enable you to carry out searches in a variety of resources, including the Ovid interface to databases such as Medline, Embase and PsycINFO, as well as other databases including the Web of Science, Scopus and the Cochrane Library.

- Translate a research query into an effective search strategy
- use thesaurus and text word searching
- combine searches using AND, OR and NOT
- Search a range of databases
Who should attend?
Members of staff or students who want to learn or update their knowledge of literature searching in the field of biomedicine.
