There are lots of resources available to all UCL Laws students who might need support or advice during their studies.
Support at UCL Laws
Academic mentors
All undergraduate students are assigned an Academic Mentor, who is a full-time member of academic staff and will be able to provide support during your time at UCL Laws.
You can raise in confidence any matter – academic or personal – that might be causing you concern. Your mentor will be able to give advice and if necessary, refer you to one of UCL’s student support and welfare services.
Programme Directors
The Undergraduate and Graduate Taught Programme Directors have responsibility for the general academic and pastoral oversight of all students in the Faculty, and can provide advice and direction to students on academic, financial or personal issues.
Student Advisers
Student Advisers are your key point of contact during your first undergraduate year. Their role is to:
- Support you with any matters relating to your wellbeing and student experience
- Discuss any aspects of university life that you are not sure about - whether that’s policies, assessments or finding the right kind of support
- Run workshops and activities on how you can stay well and make the most out of your time here

UCL Student Support and Wellbeing
The UCL Support and Wellbeing team of expert wellbeing, disability and mental health staff provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, in which you can discuss any issues that may be affecting your ability to study - including health and wellbeing, fees and funding, rights and advice, and safety.
Services includes: drop-in sessions, workshops, counselling, online resources; as well as support for international students and those with a disability.
Students' Union UCL
The Students' Union is here to make all students feel supported during their time at UCL, providing advice and support services on issues including housing, money, employment and safety, as well as academic matters.
The Union also runs series of programmes and workshops designed to help you navigate different aspects of university life, from managing stress and anxiety, to improving English writing and reading for non-native English speakers.
