UCL Laws recognised at UCL Education Awards 2023

Staff and students from across UCL came together on Wednesday 7 June on the Wilkins Terrace to celebrate the staff who go the extra mile to support learning; and the student reps who make a difference in improving the student experience. 

The Education Awards comprise of:

• UCL Education Awards (staff nominated by staff)
• Student Choice Awards (run by the UCL Students’ Union, staff nominated by students) 
• Academic Rep of the Year Awards (Reps nominated by students and staff)

Dr Matt Fisher (Senior Lecturer at UCL Laws and Co-Director of UCL IBIL) was named the joint winner of the Provost Education Award in the Assessment and Feedback category, with Dr Andrew Williams (UCL Medical Sciences). Dr Fisher also won a Student Choice Award for Outstanding Research Supervision. Speaking about Dr Fisher's approach to assessment and feedback, the nomination noted: "His support to students to understand and engage with the process, resulting in an alternative perspective and highly effective learning, is phenomenal."

Lukas Baumann (third year LLB student at UCL Laws) won the Academic Rep of the Year - Faculty Rep Award. The award is a reflection of Lukas' dedication to represent students' views and proactively work with staff to improve education at UCL - leading to positive changes for the experience of UCL Laws students.
