Summary: Eugene had query regarding sensitivity of data from a clinical trials and I proposed that as the data did not identify individuals, Medical Sciences IT Service Manager Caetano Joannes provided a network shared drive that would meet Eugene's requirement.

Q1. Briefly, what were the queries or requirements you contacted us research facilitators about?
WGTU is providing clinical products for ophthalmic clinical trials and in future, proposes to hold a Specials License which may require supplying products to named patients . As it is vital for patent sensitive data to be held appropriately in accordance with national regulations, WGTU wanted IT to assist in the appropriate storage and handling of patient sensitive data by staff.
Q2. How far do you feel the applications / tools / services / advice we provided you with meet with your requirement?
Cancer Institute IT have created a dedicated folder in a secure location to be accessed only by individuals who are authorised to handle patient sensitive data.
Q3. If you were recommended tools or services (Information Governance, Shared drive etc.), how effective was our facilitation service in providing you information and getting your accounts?
The facilitation service provided was effective for immediate implementation. However, periodic review may be required to confirm Information Governance.
Q4. What differences, if any, do the recommended IT tools / services make to your research work compared to before you used such tools / services?
The service is provided is useful to maintain Information Governance with specific emphasis on patient sensitive data for the future.
Q5. What suggestions do you have for research IT service facilitators to improve on for a very similar request?
None at the moment.
