User stories feedback: Aikaterini Vezyroglou, UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health

User story feedback on Research Facilitation. "These tools enable me to start my data collection as there was no way for me to safely store personal data before."

Summary: Aikaterini (Kate) contacted ISD in late November 2017 regarding saving and grading videos with sensitive data on the Data Safe Haven for her Clinical Neurosciences project in the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. The research facilitator met with Kate to discuss details of her requirements along with Jack Hindley, Information Governance Officer. We met again in September 2018 when Kate has finalised her research data management plan and ready to collect data and use the Data Safe Haven. Her project was then set up in November.

Feedback

December 2018

Q1 Briefly, what were the queries or requirements you contacted us research facilitators about?

For my PhD project I need a safe space to store video data. I contacted Research IT facilities to enquire whether Data Safe Haven could be used for this.

Q2 What suggestions do you have for Research IT Service facilitators to improve on for a very similar request?

None. David and Jack were very helpful, always available and gave me useful advice at every stage of the process of setting up my Data Safe Haven account.

Q3 How far do you feel the applications / tools / services / advice we provided you with meet with your requirement?

They absolutely do.

Q4 If you were recommended tools or services (Research Data Services, Data Safe Haven, etc.), how effective was our facilitation service in providing you information and getting your accounts?

Your service was excellent.

Q5 What differences, if any, do the recommended IT tools / services make to your research work compared to before you used such tools / services?

These tools enable me to start my data collection as there was no way for me to safely store personal data before. In that sense these tools make my research possible.
