    Before you start...

    • You will need access to a Xerox VersaLink C7030 Print @ UCL Multi-function device or printer

    Instructions

Paper tray set up on this model printer is critical to ensuring jam free operation. Follow the guide below to ensure the trays are set correctly to match the print@UCL default driver settings on your PC.

    1. Ensure that Tray 1 has A4 Plain Paper loaded in Landscape orientation, as in Fig. 2 below.

    2. After closing the paper tray ensure that A4 Plain White in Landscape orientation is confirmed as the stock in that tray.

Note: Failing to do this correctly will lead to jams if the tray is incorrectly set to portrait orientation, or sheets will not be fed from tray 1 if something other than Plain Paper is selected.

    Confirm Paper Stock

    3. Ensure that both Trays 3 & 4 have A4 Plain White Paper loaded in Portrait orientation.

    Confirm Tray 3 Settings

    4. After closing the paper tray make sure that A4 Plain White Paper in Portrait orientation is confirmed as the stock in that tray.

Note: Failing to do this will lead to jams if the tray is incorrectly set to landscape orientation, or sheets will not be fed from the trays if something other than Plain White Paper is selected.

    5. Tray 2 can be set with either A3 or A4 as needed, but it is still necessary to confirm the correct stock and orientation loaded after closing the paper tray. For all trays, the paper guides must always be positioned against the sides of the stock loaded in the tray as shown in step 1.

    6. Use the Bypass tray for any specialist or custom size stocks such as A5, card or envelopes. Ensure the current stock (size, type and colour) is confirmed on the screen. When sending a print job that you want to print from the Bypass Tray, select the stock type from the Paper dropdown menu in the driver that matches the stock loaded in the Bypass Tray. The printer will automatically locate and select the tray with the designated stock.

    Tray Selection

Pro Tip: Ensure that paper in the trays is neatly stacked and is not higher than the maximum fill line. Discard any sheets with folded corners or noticeable damage, as these are likely to cause additional jamming issues.
