Faculties and Departments often want to create an intranet on their website for their staff / students.

The strength of an intranet depends on the people looking after it and the involvement of users in the process.

Lack of buy-in by users and / or regular updates by administrators almost always results in an out-of-date intranet.

For reasons of security, we strongly recommend you use Sharepoint rather than a website for intranets.

Currently, Sharepoint sites set up by ISD are self-serviced, i.e. once set up, the owner/administrator needs to look after the site without support.
