In this session, run by the Digital Accessibility team at UCL, you will build a checklist for planning and publishing social media content that covers: image creation, writing in plain English, checking colour contrast, emoji use, writing alternative text, and how to adapt to inaccessible platforms.

Whether you're in need of a refresher or a complete novice, this session will give you the tools to create accessible social media content across all the platforms you use.

Objectives:

By the end of the course you will:

  • Be confident in creating accessible social media content
  • Know how to overcome the problems that inaccessible platforms can present
  • Write succinct and descriptive alternative text
  • Know the benefits of writing in plain English
