Research Fellow to work in the Retina Pathology Lab

About us

The post-holder will work with Professor Marcus Fruttiger and Professor Adnan Tufail at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology (IoO) to investigate the underlying mechanisms responsible for pathology in the macula of the human retina.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate researcher to engage in cutting-edge biomedical research and to contribute to an ambitious research initiative within our prestigious and dynamic research and teaching institute.

Joining our vibrant research community in the Faculty of Brain Sciences, School of Life and Medical Sciences and University College London (UCL) and Moorfields Eye Hospital (MEH) provides access to extensive resources, collaboration prospects and career development opportunities.

About the role

The project aims to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms that cause dry AMD by studying human biosamples with modern readout methods to identify and validate novel targets for therapeutic intervention.

Duration: The post is available until 31 July 2026 in the first instance.  

Salary:  UCL Grade 7 £39,508 - £43,792 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.

About you

We are looking for a motivated individual with a keen interest in molecular mechanisms in biology/pathology and a good comprehension of methodologies and technologies in modern bioscience research. More details on the UCL Job link below.
