Congratulations to newly promoted IoO academic staff

Six members of our academic staff were promoted in the UCL Senior Academic, Research and Teaching Promotions 2022-23 list.

The promotions recognize the outstanding contributions of these individuals to the field of ophthalmology and are effective from 1 October 2023.

Professors

  • Anthony Khawaja to Professor of Ophthalmology.
  • Bruce Allan (MEH Consultant) to Professor of Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery. 
  • Konstantinos Balaskas (MEH Consultant) to Professor of Medical Artificial Intelligence and Applied Health Research.

Associate Professors

  • Ryan Macdonald

Principal Research Fellow

  • Nikolas Pontikos
