UCL IoO PhD student wins Dodt Award
15 August 2022
Congratulations to Xiaofan Jiang for winning the Eberhard Dodt Memorial Award.

At the annual scientific meeting of the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision (ISCEV), Xiaofan Jiang, PhD student at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, won the Eberhard Dodt Memorial Award.
The electroretinogram (ERG) records electrical activity of the retina, useful in evaluating retinal function in health and disease. Xiaofan presented ERG findings from over 1500 adults, including 38 participants who underwent recordings five years apart. The project was supervised by Professor Omar Mahroo, undertaken in collaboration with King’s College London and TwinsUK, and received funding from Moorfields Eye Charity and the Wellcome Trust.
The Dodt Award is awarded to the young scientist who, in the opinion of the Adjudication Panel, gives the best presentation at the Annual Symposium. This is the second consecutive meeting in which a member of Omar’s Lab at our institute has won the award.
