An excellent opportunity for a clinical secretary to work in the Pathology Unit at the IoO.
Job details
The post is the liaison point for users of pathology services at the Institute. As such, s/he must be able to maintain a professional attitude when dealing with medical and legal matters, occasionally involving the non-accidental injury of children and infants. The postholder must be comfortable with discussions regarding, and handling pathological specimens and respectful of patient confidentiality at all times.
Audio typing of clinical reports, distribution of reports to requesting clinicians by post or electronic. Maintaining an accurate filing system, preparing cases for meetings. Day-to-day administrative and secretarial duties, data entry, telephone liaison for queries regarding the department. Assisting consultant staff, organizing meetings and note taker, acting as a central point of contact for the Department.
Key requirements
Educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high standard of English. Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner, experience of working in an office environment, excellent administrative and organisation skills and flexible approach to work.
Experience working independently and managing priorities whilst also being an active member of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to the effective operation of the team.
Further details
This part-time role will require the post holder to be working on-site from 09.00 - 17.00 hrs two days a week.
