Prof Bainbridge elected as one of the UK’s leading medical scientists.
Congratulation to IoO Chair of Retinal Studies, Prof James Bainbridge, for his election to the Academy of Medical Sciences Fellowship.
The Academy of Medical Sciences is the independent body in the UK representing the diversity of medical science. The Academy's elected Fellows are the UK’s leading medical scientists from hospitals, academia, industry and the public service, advancing biomedical and health research and its translation into benefits for society.
Prof Bainbridge said:
“To be elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences is an honour and a privilege. In my work to translate gene and cell therapies for the benefit of people with sight impairment, I am fortunate to have the support of extraordinary teams of dedicated researchers at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields NIHR Biomedical Research Centre. I look forward with excitement to the opportunity to contribute to the Academy’s mission of advancing medical research for the benefit of society.
