Duties and Responsibilities

A technical post is available in the laboratory of Dr Mariya Moosajee at University College London’s Institute of Ophthalmology to study universal genetic therapies for common disease pathways in retinitis pigmentosa and related inherited retinal diseases.

The successful applicant will carry out a wide range of duties including dose-response experiments, microinjections, histology, genotyping, western blots, and immunohistochemistry, cell sorting, general laboratory duties, such as preparation of reagents. The job will involve use of general developmental and molecular biology techniques.

The position is funded for a period of 7 months.

Key Requirements

Experience in developmental and molecular biology is essential and a degree in a biological or biochemical discipline is desirable. Candidates should have an interest in retinal research, and will be competent in molecular and developmental biology techniques particularly microinjection of single cells and experimental use of zebrafish models.
