Post 1

Duties and Responsibilities

A research fellow post is available in the laboratory of Professor C Ruhrberg at University College London’s Institute of Ophthalmology to study vascular development and disease. Building on recent work from the Ruhrberg laboratory, the post holder will elucidate novel molecular and cellular mechanisms in vascular development and disease.

The successful applicant will carry out a wide range of duties including, amongst others, leading and taking responsibility for experimental objectives, designing and carrying out experiments as required to achieve the experimental objectives, writing manuscripts for publication and presenting successful work packages at national and international meetings. A PhD in a biological or biochemical discipline is an essential requirement.

The position funded for a period of 24 months in the first instance (1st March 2020 – 30th April 2022). The start date is negotiable (within reason).

Post 2

Duties and responsibilities

A research fellow post is available in the laboratory of Professor C Ruhrberg at University College London’s Institute of Ophthalmology to study the origins of blood and lymphatic vessels. Building on recent work from the Ruhrberg laboratory, the post holder will elucidate novel molecular and cellular markers for vascular progenitors in human and animal models of development and disease. The post will be co-supervised by Dr Paola Bonfanti at University College London’s GOS Institute of Child Health.

The successful applicant will carry out a wide range of duties including, amongst others, leading and taking responsibility for experimental objectives, designing and carrying out experiments as required to achieve the experimental objectives, writing manuscripts for publication and presenting successful work packages at national and international meetings. A PhD in a biological or biochemical discipline is an essential requirement.
