Victoria Tovell is awarded £1000 by UCL PACE Focus on the Positive

Last week, Victoria Tovell secured £1000 at the UCL PACE ‘Focus on the Positive’ event, where she gave a passionate pitch about the importance of the Institute’s new Public and Patient Engagement committee. The committee, which held it’s first meeting in June, has the ambition to improve research in ophthalmology through creating better relationships between researchers and patients.

On the committee are staff and students who are enthusiastic about giving patients a voice in ophthalmology and helping prioritise research questions in order to design projects with more relevant patient outcomes. With this award, the committee can start offering research groups the necessary funding and resources to enable the organisation of regular patient engagement days here at the institute.
