“Trials & Tribulations - Research into Practice  ”

 

The LiGHT trial is a large NIHR -HTA funded randomised controlled trial with a sister study in China.

I shall discus the route to funding, running and carrying out the study and the challenges faced in doing so with a summary of what we found and what we can learn for the route from science to patients.

"Insights into visual function from cellular imaging “

 

Modern technology has allowed us to visualise an ever increasing number of retinal cells in vivo. This now gives us the opportunity to not only visualise these cells, but begin to test their function.  In this talk I will discuss several of these evolving techniques and possible applications.
