Why did you choose to study your programme and what made you choose IOE?

I did my detailed research before choosing my programme of study – it was a serious commitment and I wanted to be sure that I was making the right choice. As a result, I chose IOE and Applied Educational Leadership due to its ranking, subjects offered and flexibility.

The opportunity to for distance learning had an important impact on my decision-making. I am glad I made this choice.

What did you enjoy most about your programme?

Subjects were relevant and the concepts I learned were thought-provoking. Professors and tutors were available when needed and the study process was based on critical evaluation of the knowledge.

The fact that students were from all around the world and had different cultural as well as professional experience made the discussions even more interesting.

How did you get to where you are now in your career? Was there anything in particular from your time at IOE that was valuable?

I have a legal background and have been working in the field for the last 15+ years. Having recently completed my educational degree, I still have to translate my new knowledge into my new career path. Hence, this makes me an atypical MA student and my experience could be relevant for others who plan to take the same path.

What did you think of the distance learning option?

Overall, this mode has its benefit in terms of flexibility and a drawback in terms of not meeting people in person, but with a modern lifestyle, when one has to work and continue lifelong learning, distance studies are the prime choice.
