Mayukh will explore the two fundamental theories on the evolution of cultural norms across time that are widely debated by socioeconomists.
The first argument is that cultural norms should converge across time as economies become more advanced and integrated, whereas the other states that cultural traits are highly persistent, and passed down from generation to generation.
This event will be particularly useful for those interested in machine learning, historical newspaper text, gender norms, persistence of culture and convergence of culture.

He holds a BA in Economics and an MPhil in Economic Research from the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining London Business School, Mayukh worked for the International Finance Division at the Bank of England.
