Nature-nurture interplay in educational attainment
Join this event to hear Niels Rietveld discuss his research, which looks at the effects of genetics and birth order on education.
On average, firstborns complete more education than laterborns.
Niels will discuss whether this effect is amplified by individuals' endowments, measured using genetic information. He looks at how nature and nurture interact in producing human capital, with birth order acting as a measure of the environment because family size puts a natural constraint on parental time investments.
This event will be particularly useful for those interested in genetics and educational attainment.
Please note this is a hybrid event and can be joined in-person or online.
