Join this event to hear Emilie Courtin talk about the effect of parental leave policies on maternal mental health in Denmark.
Emilie will explore her research which assessed the impact of a 6-week extension of parental leave in Denmark on maternal mental health. The research linked individual-level data from Danish national registries on maternal sociodemographic characteristics and psychiatric diagnoses.
This event will be particularly useful for those interested in parental leave policies and maternal mental health.

Her research combines social epidemiology and social policy to assess how non-medical policies influence health and disease. She uses experimental and quasi-experimental methods to evaluate the long-term health effects of public policies shaping socioeconomic conditions. She is currently working on the heterogeneous effects of social policies on health outcomes using new machine learning techniques as well genomics.
