- Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
UCL has a contract with an external service provider to provide a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme. This service is free for staff to use and is designed to help with personal and work-related problems, and is also available to family members of UCL staff. Advice is provided on a wide range of topics including emotional, health, family, consumer information, relationships, legal and financial. Counselling can also be arranged through the EAP. - Eye Care
The UCL Eye Care Scheme enables staff to access free eye tests and, if clinically appropriate for display screen equipment users, a choice from a range of free lenses and frames.
- Gym Memberships
Bloomsbury Fitness is a gym for the whole UCL community. Conveniently located at 15 Gordon Street, it offers free classes, a 90 piece fitness suite, personal training, internet enabled smart machines, squash courts and more!

We have a corporate rate at Central YMCA Club, Great Russell Street, London. The Corporate Peak rate is £47.50 and off peak £40.50 respectively through a monthly Direct Debit.
There is a one-off joining fee of £15. However join free during the month of February and save this fee. The minimum contract period is 12 months. You may terminate this agreement by completing a minimum of 3 monthly Direct Debit payments with 30 days notice and proof indicating a change in personal circumstances.
Peak times are from 6.30am – 10pm Mon-Fri, 10am-8pm Sat and 10am – 6.30pm on Sun and Off Peak times are from 6.30am – 3.45pm, 10am-8pm Sat and 10am – 6.30pm on Sun. The membership includes a free induction plus a personalised programme designed by one of our fitness advisors. This also includes the use of the pool (25m), classes (100 per week), the Cardio-Vascular & Free Weights areas, as well as the badminton and basketball courts.

- Voluntary Healthcare Schemes
Two voluntary healthcare schemes are available to our staff - AXA PPP and Eduhealth.
AXA PPP offers employees, their families and dependents prompt access to eligible private medical treatment. This private healthcare scheme offers you the choice of four different healthcare plans, with different excess levels to help manage your subscription. Also, you will have the option of taking out a healthcare plan with a Medical History Disregarded underwriting term if you are new to UCL. This means that any pre-existing conditions you may have had before you joined, are covered (subject to terms and conditions). AXA PPP has also offered existing staff another limited opportunity to join their plans on a Medical History Disregarded basis from 13 November 2017 until the end of January 2018. Eduhealth Essentials provides UCL staff and their dependents access to membership premiums that have been discounted by up to 55% (when compared to other Bupa premiums). Benefits include a full choice of hospitals, the fact that the plan is not claims related and it can be continued into retirement. UCL staff also have the opportunity to join the separate Eduhealth Cash Plan and Dental Plan on a Medical History Disregarded basis.
