UCL launches Leadership and Management Professional Development programmes

29 January 2024

80 staff attended an in-person induction event to mark the launch of the Leadership and Management Professional Development programmes funded by the Apprenticeship Levy.

UCL Leadership and Management Professional Development programme launch

The session delivered by our training partner Corndel, provided an opportunity for learners to find out more about the programmes, build networks with others and start reflecting on their skills for success.

Learners heard from Programme Sponsor, Aimie Chapple, Vice President of Operations, about the significance of developing our leadership capability across UCL and the importance of personal growth and progression for our staff.

Attendees appreciated the opportunity to meet in person with other learners and the Professional Development experts from Corndel, who will be coaching them through the programme over the next 12 months. The energy and enthusiasm were clear to see and all left feeling inspired and motivated to get started.

Paula Sandamas, Apprenticeship Manager (Academic and Professional Services), said: “This programme has been a year in the planning, so it's great to see it finally come to fruition. It's wonderful to witness the energy and enthusiasm among learners. I am particularly pleased that we have colleagues from the Academic and Technical communities that are undertaking these programmes, as well as those from our Professional Services, so we have a diverse group of learners that can learn with and from each other.”

More information about apprenticeships for staff can be found on the Apprenticeships and Professional Development website.
