How to request a standard or noise-cancelling headset.

Standard headsets

As we return to campus, many of you will continue having virtual or hybrid meetings with colleagues from your desks. To ensure you can participate in these meetings effectively, and to reduce the impact on those around you, UCL provides all the users of Microsoft Teams with headsets.

How to order: to request a standard headset, visit the Unified Voice team SharePoint site and click on the 'request a headset' link.

Noise-cancelling headsets

For those of you who require noise-cancelling headsets, the following options are recommended by ISD. These headsets will reduce the sound from around you but also tend to make the user talk louder, which may impact those working in the office around them. If you feel that they are necessary for your work, you will need to request your department to make a purchase, as they are not included in the standard offer.

Jabra Evolve 80 – circa £180

Wired, simply works when plugged into your PC
Reduces the impact of voices due to the closed cup design of the ear cushions
Has an active electronic noise reduction functionality which helps remove lower frequency noises, such as air conditioning
Certified for use with Microsoft Teams

Jabra Evolve2 85 – circa £240

Wireless, suitable for more technical users that can pair the headset with their computer and are happy to charge the headset regularly
Reduces the impact of voices due to the closed cup design of the ear cushions

How to order: to request a noise-cancelling headset, please contact your local IT purchaser, or other departmental contact and ask them to follow the following process:

Sign in to Oracle
From the top left Menu select UCL iProcurement – iProcurement Home Page
