You are invited to participate in a special event during Children's Mental Health Week 2024, organised by the UCL's Grand Challenge of Mental Health & Wellbeing and the Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CYPMH) Special Interest Group at UCL.

Come and hear about the latest research and recommendations by experts on topics as diverse as: the impact of social media on mental health, how to support neurodiverse adolescents, the potential role of schools in mental health prevention, and whether mental health problems are really on the rise. UCL experts on adolescent mental health will critically review the evidence on these pressing issues and address questions from the audience in this public event.

You have the option to reserve your place to attend in person or virtually, but the in-person tickets are limited. Additionally, the event will be recorded and accessible on the UCL Institute of Mental Health's YouTube channel.

We are privileged to have Professor Roz Shafran and Dr Keri Wong as chairs for this event. The distinguished line-up of speakers includes:

  • Professor Argyris Stringaris, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health Neuroscience, who will share insights on time trends in CYPMH.
  • Dr Ruth Plackett, Senior Research Fellow in Primary Care & Population Health, will shed light on the relationship between social media and CYPMH.
  • Professor William Mandy, Professor of Neurodevelopmental Conditions in Clinical, Educational & Health Psychology, will provide valuable perspectives on neurodiversity.
  • Professor Jessica Deighton, Professor in Child Mental Health and Wellbeing, Clinical, Educational & Health Psychology, will discuss interventions in school settings.

We look forward to your participation in this informative and engaging event. Secure your place by registering.
