Grand Challenges, SHS and the Institute of Advanced studies invite researchers and the public to attend hybrid symposium Colonial Legacies, Contemporary Inequities: Critical Approaches to Global Health.

This event brings together social science, humanities and medical scholars working critically on global health across UCL, facilitating interdisciplinary conversations between emerging and established researchers. We seek to further the vital conversations begun in Grand Challenges' 2022 roundtable (“What is Critical Global Health?”) and subsequent podcast series, both funded by the Grand Challenge of Global Health.

This event features two visiting keynote speakers - Dr Chisomo Kalinga (University of Edinburgh) and Dr Jean Segata (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul) - alongside ECR presentations and a reflective interdisciplinary roundtable. The symposium will close with an outdoor reception.

Virtual and in-person registration options are available.

Find out more and register here.

Colonial Legacies, Contemporary Inequities: Critical Approaches to Global Health is a collaboration between the UCL Grand Challenge of Global Health; Social and Historical Sciences' Health, Mind and Society initiative; and the Institute of Advanced Studies.
