Reclaiming indigenous history from Amazonian soil

Dr. Manuel Arroyo-Kalin, an archaeologist from UCL, has collaborated with Brazilian researchers and indigenous communities to enhance comprehension and promote the exchange of their cultural heritage.

Since 2019, Dr. Manuel Arroyo-Kalin, an archaeologist from UCL, has been at the forefront of an engaging interdisciplinary project in Brazil, made possible by a grant from the British Academy/Global Challenges Research Fund in Sustainable Development. The project aims to reveal traces of ancient human settlements while fostering intercultural exchange with indigenous communities in the region.
