Join a screening of the award-winning IMPHAL 1944 (2014), a short film telling the story of a war veteran who comes to London for reconciliation between the British and Japanese who fought in the "Battle of Imphal" in 1944. The film is inspired by the life of Mr. Masao Hirakubo O.B.E., who dedicated his life to reconciliation of the Japanese and British veterans.
The film screening will be followed by a presentation and Q&A with the London-based director of the film, Mr. Junichi Kajioka, who was inspired by Mr. Hirakubo’s story and produced this film to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Imphal.
