Institute for Global Health



IGH offers cutting edge programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level. These unite public health and clinical medicine with epidemiology, economics, political science, philosophy, law, geography, anthropology and other disciplines. In addition to the learning opportunities available within IGH, students have access to a wide range of seminars and lectures throughout UCL.

Postgraduate taught

Our postgraduate programmes attract students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds and all parts of the world.  We also provide tropEd accredited modules for tropEd students visiting UCL.

Postgraduate research

We offer MPhil and PhD programmes in all areas of our research activity, with an emphasis on multi-disciplinary research, and an MD(Res) in Global Health and Infection.

Our undergraduate programmes include a year-long iBSc, individual modules for 3rd year undergraduates, and a Study Abroad programme for 3rd and 4th year undergraduates from non-EU universities.


Short and Taster Courses

All our Masters modules are available as short and taster courses for professionals and those wishing to return to academic study. We also offer short courses in research methods, health economics and statistics.
