Skills Learnt During Your Degree

Geographers are valued for a range of skills including:

  • Extensive knowledge of the changes taking place within and interconnections between societies and physical environments
  • Understanding of the importance of spatial relationships and scales
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Literacy including the ability to synthesize material and construct logical arguments
  • Numeracy including the ability to interpret statistical information
  • Capacity for independent learning and group work

UCL Careers Service

UCL Geography students benefit from career advice that is provided by the UCL Careers Service. The UCL Careers Service provide a range of services including:

  • Short or long 1-1 meetings to discuss career choices

  • Conducting practice interviews or assessment centre techniques
