About the lecture:

This lunch time lecture will be an introduction to neurodiversity and how it relates to non-visible disabilities. Then I will explain what is happening at UCL in terms of neurodiversity, giving example of the strengths that neurodivergent people bring to higher education. Then I will introduce the neurodivergent Staff Network and our initiatives at UCL. To end, if there is time, I will give a short summary of the state of adult autism research in computer science.

Dr Dafne Zuleima Morgado Ramirez

Senior Research Associate at Interaction Centre (UCLIC) at UCL

Dr Dafne Zuleima Morgado Ramirez is Senior Research Associate at the Interaction Centre (UCLIC) of University College London, Senior Researcher in Assistive Technology at the Global Disability Innovation Hub, member of the Global Cooperation on Assistive Technology, founder of the Neurodivergent Staff Network at UCL, Fair Recruitment Specialist at UCL and member of the UCL Disability Equality Steering Group.

Dafne is passionate about affordable, appropriate, accessible, inclusive and multidisciplinary research. Her research interests are human-computer interaction, assistive devices, wearable technology, participatory research, social media, disability, adult autism, low resource settings and biomedical engineering. Before joining UCL she obtained a PhD in Biomechanics and Sports Science, an MSc in Biomedical Engineering, a Postgraduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Engineering and an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering.
