The Peace Deal between the Colombian government and the FARC established the need to create a Truth Commission (TC). The TC officially began work in November 2018, and will have until November 2021 to present its final report. One of the pillars of the TC is the participation of civil society. In this public dialogue, Julia Paulson (Education, Bristol), Ana Victoria Bastidas (Diaspora Woman) and Andrei Gomez-Suarez (Rodeemos el Diálogo and UCL Institute of the Americas) will share their perspectives on issues of truth, memory, reconciliation, and peace education in Colombia. This first public dialogue, part of a monthly Embrace Dialogue Academia rolling seminars organised by UCL Institute of the Americas, LSE Latin American and Caribbean Centre and Rodeemos el Diálogo will be chaired by Par Engstrom (UCL Institute of the Americas)
