European Institute supported two UCL student-led initiatives in March

The UCL European Institute was delighted to support two student-led initiatives this month, the European Horizons 'Future of Europe' conference and the Bentham Brookes Institute's annual policy conference.
Future of Europe Conference
UCL European Horizons hosted a series of talks examining Europe's greatest challenges given by leaders in the fields of politics, diplomacy and policy, with contributions on climate change, cyber-policy conflict resolution and from a range of external speakers including the Swiss Ambassador to the United Kingdom, HE Markus Leitner and UCL Professor Dr Melanie Garson. UCL European Institute Visiting Professor and Advisory Board Member Dr Heather Grabbe addressed the conference on the politics of the European Green Deal and how the policy implementation has been affected by the series of crises over COVID and Ukraine.
BBI Annual Policy Conference
At the BBI Annual Policy Conference student-led research teams presented policy papers on a range how to address a range of policy challenges, including:
- Integration of Ukrainian migrants in the UK and Poland
- Stakeholders' views on the EFRAG’s European Sustainability Reporting Standards
- Impact of the EU Data Governance Act on NGOs's ability to achieve open data sharing for social benefit
