UCL Visiting Professor, Carlos Moedas, elected Mayor of Lisbon

Carlos Moedas, who is Visiting Professor at the UCL European Institute, was elected Mayor of Lisbon on 26 September 2021.

Carlos Moedas, former EU Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, was the Social Democratic Party candidate. His victory brings to an end 14 years of Socialist Party leadership in the capital of Portugal.

He spoke at UCL on the future of EU-UK research relations in July 2021.
