The Silent Storyteller: Reading Kafka through his Czech Contemporaries, Dr Peter Zusi

15 October 2018

Peter Zusi

In this short film, Peter Zusi, Associate Professor of Czech and Comparative Literature at UCL, takes us through a whirlwind re-appreciation of iconic modernist author Franz Kafka. Casting him as a “silent storyteller”, he teases out how Kafka’s texts may in some ways go against our standard ideas of modernist literature, and situates him explicitly in the context and company of his intellectual contemporaries in Prague.
