Call for Applications: Two Academic Directors for New Cities Programme

3 May 2018

Paris

Recruitment is open for two Academic Directors for the first two cycles of the new Cities Programme. Applications are welcomed until midday on Friday 1st June.

The first cycle runs for the academic years 2018/19-2020/21, and the second for 2019/20-2021/22. The Academic Director for each city cycle will lead on the development of an academic theme and oversee the allocation of partnership funding. They will also curate a series of academic events in the city, working with partner institutions and using their substantial local knowledge. The leading candidate cities for the first cycles are Berlin, Paris and Rome, but we welcome compelling applications for other locations in continental Europe.

Each Academic Director will be recruited from the UCL academic community. They will be engaged on the basis of a 0.2 FTE contractual buyout from their department for one year, at the grade and spine point of their academic post at that time. In addition, they will receive a small amount of programme funding from the Global Engagement Office (GEO) Global Leadership Fund.

The Academic Director will be supported by a small, dedicated programme team based within GEO.

Details of the role, the selection criteria for the candidate cities and how to apply can be found on the GEO website.
