Asian and Australasian Society of Labour Economics - Call for Papers

The Asian and Australasian Society of Labour Economics invites paper proposals for its inaugural conference in Canberra (7-9 December 2017).


The Asian and Australasian Society of Labour Economics has been founded to promote research and cooperation in Labour and Applied Economics across Asia and Australasia. The inaugural conference of the AASLE aims to bring together researchers from around the world and will be hosted by the Australian National University Research School of Economics in Canberra, Australia, from 7-9 December 2017. The Executive Board invites submissions on any topics related to Labour and Applied Economics.

The submission deadline for the conference is 30 June 2017. The conference is being organised by the Australian National University Research School of Economics and the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (CReAM) at UCL, and will be held at Hotel Realm in Canberra from 7-9 December 2017.

The conference features an exciting line-up of invited and keynote speakers, including David Card (UC Berkeley), Swati Dhingra (LSE), Edward Lazear (Stanford University), Thomas Lemieux (Vancouver School of Economics), Justin Yifu Lin (Peking University), Stephen Machin (LSE) and Yasuyuki Sawada (Asian Development Bank). We are also pleased to announce that James Heckman, 2000 Nobel Memorial Prize winner in Economics, will deliver the keynote lecture.
