Ilija Trojanow will be reading from his upcoming novel "Macht und Widerstand" ("Power and Resistance"). The reading will be followed by an open discussion by two panelists - Dina Gusejnova (Queen Mary) and Nikolay Nikolov (SSEES).

We are pleased to announce that Ilija Trojanow, author of the internationally acclaimed novel "Der Weltensammler" (2006), will be visiting the School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (SSEES), UCL, as part of the DAAD writer- in-residence scheme at Queen Mary, University of London.
He will be discussing the connections between documentary fiction and the socialist past: the nature of working with secret service documents and archives, using the totalitarian past as artistic inspiration, notions of memory/forgetting and the generational divide between socialisms and post-socialisms.
Ilija Trojanow will be also be reading from his upcoming novel "Macht und Widerstand" ("Power and Resistance").
