UCL European & International Social & Political Studies

European Social and Political Studies (ESPS) and International Social and Political Studies (ISPS) are challenging, flexible, diverse four-year programmes at a university known for academic innovation, open access and the quality of its teaching. Students gain not only from UCL’s world-class teaching system and the insights of its renowned humanities, language and social sciences scholars, but also from the expertise of their European and international counterparts.

EISPS announces strategic collaboration with the UCL European Institute.

Building on the success of the jointly organised series of masterclasses with practitioners in the field of European politics, this partnership will involve a series of joint events and the development of modules on European society and politics.

Our Programmes

European and International Social and Political Studies (EISPS) currently offers three programmes: European Social and Political Studies BAEuropean Social and Political Studies BA: Dual Degree with Sciences Po; and International Social and Political Studies BA. The programmes combine specialisation in a humanity or social science with a broad base in European or international history, law, politics and philosophy as well as fluency in a foreign language.

About EISPS

ESPS and ISPS are multidisciplinary programmes focusing on Europe and other regions of the world. The BA in European Social and Political Studies was created in 1991. The Dual Degree began in 2012 and the BA in International Social and Political Studies started in 2019.

Careers & Destinations

EISPS attracts applicants from many different countries; the degrees produce graduates who go on to undertake research or professional training and take up employment in a range of fields such as journalism, government or business, in the UK and internationally.
