Teaching in PCPH PPIE

Patients and caregivers are involved in a variety of teaching activities across PCPH teaching programmes.

This includes sharing their lived experiences with students in teaching sessions, speaking to students on placements in the community, working with students on their research projects, and supporting student assessment and feedback. We also have a core group of people with lived experience who are members of the Primary Care Education Expert by Experience group. This group is focused on primary care and community health teaching on the medical degree. The group discusses how future learning can be shaped by patient and public priorities and reviews teaching content and plans, for example by reviewing new or updated modules. The group meets termly, and members are also invited to the annual Primary Care Clinical Education Conference and other teaching events.
