Title: Sexual health promotion research at Public Health England
Speaker: Tom Hartney
Abstract: In this seminar I will present on some of the research projects I've been involved in as part of the sexual health promotion team at Public Health England. I will discuss my work around promoting routine HIV testing in non-specialist services, including my involvement with the 3Cs & HIV programme, a project to support basic sexual health provision in general practice, and will describe some of the final results and experiences gained during the implementation of the project. I will also describe the development and results of online surveys that I coordinated, which examined attitudes towards chlamydia screening among young adults, and the impact of screening on their perceived sexual health risk and behaviour. Finally I will touch upon how these projects led into my current research interests and PhD project.
