The Polish part of the HAPIEE study is lead by Professor Andrzej Pajak, Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Population Studies at the Jagellonian University Medical College in Krakow.

Participants for the Polish HAPIEE study were recruited from 4 districts of Krakow:Nowa Huta, Podgórze, Śródmieście, and Krowodrza.
