Research summary

I am a social and life course epidemiologist focusing on health inequalities within and between countries. I currently work on a EU Horizon 2020 funded project, MINDMAP, which investigates the role of the urban environment on mental health and cognitive functioning within and between ageing populations in Europe. My work for this project entails cross-country studies to compare and contrast the relationship between the built and psycho-social environment and mental health in different settings.

My passion for cross-cultural analysis on health inequalities emerged from previous experience working on several other multi-country EU research projects, including INEQ-CITIES and DRIVERS for Health Equity. My involvement on these projects provided me with valuable expertise on the design, technique and inference of comparative studies. As a member of the Central and Eastern European Health Research Group in the UCL Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, I am fortunate to work with colleagues with substantial experience in cross-national epidemiology.

I am Review Editor for the Life Course Epidemiology specialty section of the Frontiers in Public Health journal and a member of the Society for Longitudinal and Life Course Studies.
