in the Global Health Day 2017 poster competition organised as part of the
Global Health Day
conference 2017 on Monday 4th December at the Francis Crick
Institute. The first global health day conference was organised jointly by
University College London, Imperial College London, The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine,
King's College
London,
Wellcome Trust, and the Medical
Research Council. The title of the poster was 'Designing for well-being:
the influence of a schoolyard intervention on children's subjective
well-being', which presents partial findings of Matluba's PhD dissertation
at the University of Edinburgh. As part of her PhD research project she
co-designed and developed a schoolyard in Bangladesh with children, teachers
and the community and evaluated the intervention for children's academic
performance and well-being. Matluba was presented her award by
Dr Jim Smith, Director of Science at the Wellcome Trust.
