Lion Shahab and Jamie Brown together with international collaborators have been awarded £100,467 by Cancer Research UK to investigate the comparative toxicological and psychopharmacological risk profile of novel so called heat-not-burn products, e-cigarettes and conventional cigarettes until the end of 2019.
Claire Garnett, Susan Michie, Robert West & Jamie Brown received £127,857.48 from the NIHR School for Public Health Research (SPHR) to extend and optimise the alcohol reduction app, Drink Less. The activity will involve three work packages 1) optimisation of the Drink Less app; 2) user testing to improve acceptability and usability, and 3) development of a funding proposal for a confirmatory trial. Jamie Brown, Emma Beard, Lion Shahab, Robert West & Susan Michie, received £91,907.05 from the NIHR SPHR to extend The Alcohol Toolkit Study. The Alcohol Toolkit Study produced a 36-month time-series across a number of important indicators of population alcohol use and related behaviour (www.alcoholinengland.info).
