The Czech part of the HAPIEE study is lead by Dr Ruzena Kubinova, a public health physician and Director of the Environmental Health Monitoring System at the National Institute of Public Health in Prague.

Participants for the Czech HAPIEE study were recruited from Havířov/Karviná, Jihlava, Ústí nad Labem, Liberec, Hradec Králové and Kroměříž.
