EPICentre Journal Paper on FRP retrofitting is most-cited in the ASCE Journal of Composite for Construction

The state-of-the-art review paper “Seismic Retrofit Schemes with FRP for Deficient RC Beam-Column Joints: State-of-the-Art Review”, authored by Daniel Pohoryles (ex-UCL, now European Commission, JRC), Jose Melo (now University of Porto) with Prof. Tiziana Rossetto (UCL), Prof. Humberto Varum (University of Porto) and Prof. Luke Bisby (University of Edinburgh) is the most-cited article in the American Society of Civil Engineers Journal of Composites for Construction from the past 3 years. The article stems from the very successful collaborative research project Challenging RISK project funded by EPSRC (EP/K022377/1).

The review critically assessed experimental research on the seismic retrofit of existing reinforced concrete beam-column joints with fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets over the past 20 years. Making use of the large database of experimental data collected for the review, an assessment of different joint shear strengthening equations was also provided.
