China Earthquake Administration Visit to UCL EPICentre

UCL EPICentre hosted a workshop for China Earthquake Administration (CEA) on 4th May 2017.

The aim of the workshop was to bring researchers from EPICentre and CEA together to discuss opportunities to build on current collaborations.

Prof. Tiziana Rossetto and Prof. Dina D'Ayala, the co-directors of EPICentre, welcomed the visitors from Institute of Geology and China Earthquake Disaster Prevention Center sectors, CEA as well as local governors of Shaanxi province, China. Prof Guiwu Su and Dr Jie Gao from CEA presented overviews of CEA and on-going research projects, including Nation-Wide County-Level Earthquake Resilience Research.

Researchers of EPICentre and Statistical Sciences presented a series of 5-minute talks of current research projects relating to earthquake hazard, vulnerability and reinsurance in China.
